The MILEAGE Internship Model is a comprehensive and practical framework for the high-quality implementation of practical training in higher education, integrating pedagogical approaches, competence development, and modern forms of learning, including digital and hybrid workplace learning. It is based on established international theoretical frameworks and best practices, and clearly defines the roles and responsibilities of students, higher education institutions, and host organisations.
The model is structured in six consecutive phases, from goal setting to reflection, and includes guidelines for planning learning outcomes, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance. The main objective is to improve students' learning experience, strengthen cooperation between academia and the world of work, and contribute to graduates' employability, professional development, and social responsibility.
