The monograph Three Decades of Slovenian Youth provides an in-depth overview of the most important changes in the field of youth, especially within those dimensions that have been most frequently highlighted in the past. Although the strands covered are not exhaustive and there are certainly other topics that would merit in-depth analysis, the contributions collected here can nevertheless represent a credible attempt to provide a comprehensive overview of the development of this often overlooked field.

The monograph highlights the key steps and breakthroughs that have taken place in the three decades since Slovenia's independence, thus providing an important starting point for formulating relevant development issues and reflections on the future of Slovenian youth. This makes it one of the publications with a clear ambition to provide guidance for various stakeholders.

The individual chapters are designed according to a common methodology, which allows for comparability and a comprehensive overview. Each chapter thus highlights key milestones, outlines the development processes over the last three decades and – even tough, to a limited extent - evaluates the progress made.
