Report on the Role of Career Centres in Study Practice Excellence

This report examines the strategic role of university Career Centres in ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and educational value of study practices and internships. Developed within the MILEAGE project, it analyses how Career Centres support students in selecting internships, evaluating their learning experiences, and improving outcomes for academic progression and employability.

Drawing on European policy frameworks, academic literature, and international best practices, the report highlights Career Centres as key intermediaries between higher education institutions, students, and host organisations. It shows how structured guidance, monitoring, evaluation, and collaboration with employers contribute to coherent, inclusive, and labour market-relevant internships. The report concludes with operational recommendations to strengthen Career Centres’ capacity to support high-quality study practices and to foster sustainable transitions from education to employment.
