Power dynamics between the global North and South: The case of fair trade policies (Student Project with Field Research)

The project, implemented in cooperation with Cooperative BUNA, will involve students in analysing power relations in the global coffee trade.

They will examine whether fair trade policies, including the role of certification systems such as Fairtrade International, reduce inequalities between the Global North and South or perpetuate them. Through interdisciplinary research and policy analysis, students will produce research papers and policy briefs proposing more equitable and sustainable trade practices.

More European Union through schools and connected libraries - EUmore

The project strengthens EU education in schools and vocational education and training by providing structured teacher training, innovative methodologies, and certified professional development. It integrates practical classroom activities, modular materials, and interdisciplinary approaches, employing research-based methods such as problem-based learning, gamification, flipped classroom techniques, and digital tools to ensure engaging, learner-centred teaching.

To ensure long-term impact, the project establishes a community of good practice connecting teachers, school leaders, and librarians, and integrates libraries as dynamic learning spaces for inquiry-based learning and discussion of European issues. By working closely with schools and vocational education and training providers, it aims to institutionalise EU education within teacher training and foster critical thinking, media literacy, and active citizenship in a democratic EU.

Integration of the European youth policy into the higher education EU curriculum - yEUthed-up

The project will develop and implement a dedicated module on European youth policy for social science students (political science, sociology, communication studies, journalism). The module addresses two key needs: the limited in-depth coverage of EU youth policy in existing curricula and the growing demographic challenges facing Slovenia and Europe.

The project will enhance EU-related education by offering methodologically diverse, student-centred courses with substantial content on youth policy. Expected results include the development of three curricula and the implementation of innovative teaching approaches that actively involve students in defining course content and learning objectives.
