The Slovenian eWBL Capacity Building Program in Full Swing

The Slovenian eWBL (electronic work-based learning) capacity building program is currently underway, combining a series of interactive sessions in a hybrid format.

Commencing with an on-site workshop on April 15, 2024,the capacity building program garnered significant interest from key stakeholders eager to implement effective eWBL programs in their institutions, thereby facilitating hybrid and online internship options for students. The on-site event saw an impressive turnout, with over 50 participants in attendance.

Subsequent sessions of the capacity building program were hosted online on April 19 and 26, respectively. These sessions were meticulously designed as interactive workshops, incorporating various icebreakers, energizers, and collaborative group activities. The primary objective was to motivate and engage participants, particularly in the online sessions.

This emphasis on engagement is crucial, considering the considerable experience of all participants in work-based learning, including mentors in higher education and coordinators for work-based learning. This wealth of experience was evident in their feedback and discussions throughout the sessions.

To enrich the discussions further, a guest speaker from a prominent Slovenian IT company was invited to share the onboarding process from the perspective of companies. Moreover, the lead partner of the capacity building work package for the eWBL project i.e. Samantha Carty from Momentum, joined the second session as an expert facilitator and shared her invaluable insights.

The capacity building program adheres to the phases of effective eWBL design and implementation outlined in eWBLdesign, preparation, onboarding, delivery, assessment, and quality assurance. While the eWBL Toolkit and eWBL Training Program served as primary resources, they were further tailored and enriched with additional materials to suit the Slovenian context.
