The EUROGRADUATE project is a pilot survey on graduate follow-up in selected European countries, aiming to provide the basis for a sustainable pan-European survey on graduate follow-up. The study identifies the impact that the experiences of European graduates during their studies have had on their later working life and on the lives of European citizens. In 2022, the Republic of Slovenia joined the second phase of the European Graduate Follow-up Initiative EUROGRADUATE (www.eurograduate.eu), co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme. Within the EU-SI-GRADUATE project, a national survey was carried out to monitor first, second and third cycle graduates who completed their studies in the Republic of Slovenia in 2016/2017 and 2020/2021, respectively one and five years after completing their chosen study programme. The survey was carried out in all participating countries, following a harmonised methodology and with strong coordination support from the transnational EUROGRADUATE project team. This allows, among other things, a proper comparison of the data obtained between the participating countries. Through a pan-European questionnaire, we found out how satisfied graduates were with their studies, how they supported themselves during their studies, whether they travelled abroad and what they did after graduation. We will use the findings to compare different higher education systems in Europe and see how they can better prepare young people for the world of work and their role in society.
